At World Villages for Children we have a formalised safeguarding policy which is overseen by the Board of Trustees and codes of conduct which apply to staff, volunteers and anyone who works with us in helping us to care for the poorest children in the world.
The policies apply to all and we take swift and determined action if staff members fail to adhere to our policies and expectations for child safeguarding.
There are almost 20,000 children in the Sisters of Mary schools worldwide and separate formal policies which address the special circumstances of these programmes and the vulnerabilities of these children, as well as the appropriate needs of the other stakeholders involved in our work staff and volunteers are an essential part of our good governance and the trust placed in us by our supporters.
