Sister Margarita Campos joined our trustee board in September 2023. She was born in Mexico and has been with the Sisters of Mary since 1991. She is currently the Secretary General of the Sisters’ Congregation.
Since childhood she wanted to become a Sister of Mary in order to help others and she has dedicated her life to her vocation with the Sisters, lifting children out of poverty. When she was based at the schools in Mexico, she was actively involved in caring for a family of children and learned first hand the many hardships they experience in early life and how their lives are completely transformed by helping them to access education and develop their talents.
In addition to her role at the schools in Mexico, she was one of the pioneer sisters in Guatemala and also in Brazil, being the local superior in Chalco and Guadalajara, Mexico; and in Brasilia, Brazil. Through this work she has had the privilege of taking care of the most vulnerable children from their very first day at school, and seeing the change in the children as, with the investment of our supporter’s generosity, they are able to turn into good citizens, professionals, with successful lives.
On the WVC board, Sr Margarita is focused on raising awareness about the work of WVC and the SoM programmes and improving supporter contact with the Sisters and the schools.
She says our boys and girls say “I do not know what my life would be without the Sisters of Mary School”. Indeed, we also don’t know what their life would be if not because of many generous people like our supporters, who share their blessings with the children who benefit from this charity work. So, please, continue to help us, consider sharing your gift of love, a gift that can change many many lives. God bless you!”
