Amanda and her husband Tim took time out from their trip to the Philippines last week to visit the Girlstown in Talisay, Cebu. Amanda is a long time supporter of World Villages for Children and felt the opportunity to visit was something she couldn't miss out on!

They received a very warm welcome from the children at the girlstown and the Sisters and Children were thrilled to meet our donors from the UK!

Whilst there, the couple were impressed by the girls' practical skills, especially when they observed tham stripping down and reassembling computers. These practical skills are part of the wide vocational training we provide to all of our students across the world. Good vocational skills help the children to find good jobs locally become independent, self sufficient and escape their early lives of poverty.

When our supporters make the trip to visit the schools around the world they are welcomed with open arms. The children love to meet the people responsible for their chance at school and to show the difference made to their lives. If you are travelling to these countries and would like to see the impact of your support on the lives of these young people please contact us on enquiries@worldvillages.org.uk or ring us on 0207 629 3050.
