May was a big month for the Sisters of Mary girls’ school in Kisarawe, Tanzania, as the first group of 107 girls graduated! These fantastic young women were the first to join Kisarawe Girlstown six years ago, back when it was still only one building with plans for more. They’ve watched their school grow around them, mentoring new students as the school filled up with nearly 1,000 girls. Now, with their high quality education and vocational skills, these graduates are all set to land great jobs, help their families, and really make a difference in their communities.
All of this shows how your support for World Villages for Children is helping children all over the world to realise their dreams.

Join us in welcoming the newest students in The Philippines who joined in May! The school in Adlas welcomed 397 boys, Biga 617 girls, Talisay 656 girls and Minglanilla 387 boys. These new students come from some of the most remote and impoverished regions of the Philippines. These children had no access to education in their home communities and instead would have remained at home, working in dangerous, underpaid jobs to support their family with no hope of escaping poverty.
These children have a new chance of a better life, thanks to the Sisters and our supporters. The Sisters wish they could take more children but are limited by space and money. Your support is transforming so many of these lives.

In Honduras, Guatemala & Mexico the children were excited to see their families on Visiting Day in May! Spending time away from home can be very difficult but the children know that their hard work will be rewarded and the education they gain will benefit their family for years to come.
Every Visiting Day is a day of joy and celebration, with families able to see how their children are growing up in a place where they are free to learn away from the hardships of poverty. The children have the chance to show off their new skills, the work they are doing in class and everything they have learnt to their proud parents while sharing a picnic in the school grounds.

Outside of the classroom May was a very successful competition month for the boys and girls in Honduras, Brazil and Mexico.
In Honduras, the girls’ football team achieved first place in the Codicader 2025 regional championship, the Brazil girls took first place in their volleyball competition and 3rd place in their regional Futsal and chess competitions.
In Mexico, the boys in Guadalajara joined in the National football championship and took 2nd place in the Guadalajara Taekwondo Cup 2025.
Congratulations to them all, what champions!
