In the Philippines, the month of June has been focused on welcoming new students into our schools in Adlas and Biga (near Cavite) and Talisay and Minglanilla (Cebu).
A whopping 2,336 boys and girls arrived at the schools during the month ready for their 5 years of study at the schools.
These children are from the most deprived regions of the country who the Sisters met during their community visits earlier in the year.
It has been an exciting but hugely emotional time arriving at school. The boys and girls, many of whom, are severely undernourished, have had health checks, hair cuts (because of lice) and met their new family groups. They have received all their new clothes, shoes, school supplies and sports kits. Most exciting of all the children are now receiving three nutritious meals a day.

June has also seen many accomplishments in Sports, Science subjects, and extracurricular activities. The sisters are excited to support the children in expressing their skills and passions at school. These achievements demonstrate the talents of these students and their desire to succeed.
Twelve students from Kisarawe Girlstown participated in the National Sports Competition where they were awarded trophies for their achievements in choir, netball, volleyball and athletics.

In the Philippines, the Biga Girls were overall champions of the MAPUA MCL Cup 2024 and Aldas Boys were First-Runner up. Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna CUP is an exciting interschool event, where students showcase their different talents, skills and knowledge in many competitions.
Meanwhile the girls in the other schools around the world continued to excel with Tegucigalpa Girls in Honduras taking first place in the Educational District network science fair competition, the girls in Chalco, Mexico became national champions in Handball and field hockey and the girls in Brasilia entered a state-wide competition and came in 2nd, 4th and 5th, a fantastic effort.
Reaching the end of their five years of secondary education and looking forward to the future were the 568 girls and boys at school in Mexico. In June, 380 girls in Chalco and 188 boys in Guadalajara marked their graduation with ceremonies and celebrations.
These boys and girls have loved their time at school. They have also enjoyed several months of on the job work experience and they now leave school ready for employment. Many of them already have job offers and will progress into work or will continue onto further education or both. We congratulate them all.
