A big thank you to everyone who joined Sr Margie, Sr Gertrudes and the World Villages team on Friday in London for the screening of “Irmas: The Life of the Sisters of Mary”!
The Sisters enjoyed meeting so many dedicated supporters, the chance to speak in person, thank everyone for their wonderful kindness and answer all your questions.
We were especially happy to meet and welcome three graduates from the programmes! The Sisters met Mina and Leo who are graduates from the Philippines programmes, and Raelma who is a graduate from Brazil. They were kind enough to speak donors about their experience with the Sisters of Mary and shared how transformative their education has been for them.
It was a first time in the UK for both these Sisters and so following the screening, the Sisters and the team headed down to the coast to Eastbourne to meet old and new supporters, to appreciate the hospitality of our wonderful friends on the South Coast, the beautiful scenery and the warmth of a Sussex welcome.
On their final day, the Sisters were able to take in the beauty of Westminster Cathedral in central London, by attending mass and meeting Fr Slawomir Witón, Dean of Westminster Cathedral.
Thank you to everyone who supports WVC and the work of the Sisters and made their first UK visit so very special.

Our film has made it to the finals of the Smiley Charity Film awards but we still need your help!
We are thrilled that this beautiful documentary highlighting the fantastic work of the Sisters has been shortlisted in its category.
We want to win so that we can share the work of the Sisters more widely so if you haven’t already voted, please vote for our film IRMAS in the Smiley charity film awards. Voting closes on 23 April.
