Building progress in Dodoma Boystown is coming along well!
To recap, in September 2023, we opened the school with the first single-storey pilot building which held the classrooms and dormitories, and a workshop building with vocational training rooms for the first 167 boys.
In 2024, construction on the 5-storey dormitory building and gymnasium began and completed in early 2025. In January, we accepted the next group of 200 boys. World Villages for Children staff, along with some donors, attended the inauguration in March 2025. Shortly after this, construction on the 5-storey classroom building began.
In the picture on the left, you can see the site of the new classroom building before the ground was broken. Several months later, the foundations have been laid and the first floor is complete. This new classroom building will eventually have 28 classrooms, 5 computer laboratories, the main library and e-library, school admin offices, school guidance and counselling room, multipurpose hall, and a dining room.

This building is possible thanks to our valued supporters who have helped to raise funds for the classrooms. We still have a way to go on the project and we need more funds to be able to complete the building, and fill it with the necessary teaching equipment, desks, and books.
As you can imagine, this is a big project and needs all the support we can give it. If you would like to make a contribution to building classrooms for boys in Tanzania, please donate below.
Enough classrooms with the right equipment, enough space for all the children creates a good learning environment where the boys can learn well. This dramatically improves the quality of their education experience. More classrooms also increase the school’s capacity, allowing us to help even more boys receive a life-changing education.
