I am really excited to convey to you the good news coming from the places where the Sisters of Mary work. And you are the reason for this good news.
This year, we celebrate our 60 years of love and service. And we are grateful for your generosity, more than 170,000 poor children who have graduated from our Sisters of Mary Boystowns and Girlstowns have been transformed. These children have been relieved from their traumatic experiences because of extreme poverty. Now they are productive, full of hope, and are sharing their blessings to others in the society.
It is just so amazing to see the wonders the Lord has done to their lives just because you cared for them. You shared your treasure or even your hard-earned savings. You know that your donations are well-spent. And they have been multiplied because they have been passed on to others. We, the sisters, now numbering 400 in different countries continue to increase by the grace of God. Many sisters are already from the graduates of our schools. At present, we take care of more than 21,000 impoverished boys and girls at our facilities.
Since the motto of our schools is: the Glory of God is man fully alive – all the children receive a holistic education to keep them fully alive. They study, pray, play and work. With this they are fully developed physically, spiritually, mentally and technically. Though they come from difficult situations, once they are accepted in our schools, their eyes are opened to new experiences of having their own bed, own personal things, school supplies, dental and medical care, three times a day nutritious food, sufficient water and electricity, a place to play and re-create – which many of them never had before. They feel they belong to a family with the sisters’ loving care.
Our mission is not easy. There are a lot of challenges but with God‘s grace and your support, we continue to expand. You have been faithful. Without your financial assistance, prayers and love, we could not have done this. And so, we are forever thankful. You are God‘s instruments of love.
We hope and pray that you will continue to be with us. We need your support more than ever. As sisters go two by two to the peripheries of the country, there are a lot more children living in misery and danger, begging for help and we cannot just shrug our shoulders and turn our back from them.
Hand in hand we move on, making this world a better place to live, announcing to everyone that if we share and care, there should be no fear of violence and war, not the climate change that we are afraid of, but a bright future for the children, who are the hope not just of the next generation but also of the present. With this, together we break the cycle of poverty.
We count on your help as we continue to pray for you. God bless you.
Sincerely yours,
Sr. Elena
