A Christmas Message from Sr Elena

Dear Friends,

As we celebrate the joy and grace of Christmas, our hearts are filled with deep gratitude for each one of you. Though at the beginning of this year, I carried a mix of emotions – uncertainty about what lay ahead, but also a quiet hope. A hope that God, in His mercy, always hears the cry of the poor. And He did. He answered – through you.

Because of your generosity, nearly 6,000 children have found a home at our Boystowns and Girlstowns and we have graduated more than 3,000. At present, over 21,000 are being lifted from poverty into a life of dignity, education and hope.

These children come from families who could not provide even the simplest necessities nor the simple joy of childhood since they had to work even as little kids in order to survive. Some were exposed to dangers of abuses, child exploitation, trafficking, drugs and unsafe environment. But through your kindness, at our boarding schools, they have a found a family, a home, a place where they are loved, educated and formed in faith.

Each child is flourishing. Slowly but surely, they are being transformed – formed in vocational skills, values and love. Though they are many, each one is seen, cherished, and guided toward a future full of hope.

This Christmas, we thank you for being part of this miracle of love that unfolds every day. Your support is a reflection of Christ’s love, born anew in every act of charity. May the joy and peace of the Child Jesus fill your hearts and homes, and may you be blessed abundantly for the joy you bring to others. And we pray too that you continue to be one with us in this mission and together we transform lives.

Have a Blessed Christmas and look forward a more peaceful New Year!
